IMPORTANT NOTE: Supply Closet is not accessible for guests Hot Tub rules: To protect your own health and safety and the integrity of tub and linens, all guests must shower before and after using hot tub. No pets of any kind or size in hot tub. Please leave spa covers on and secured after use. Spa cover is for insulation only and is not designed to support weight. Please do not stand or sit on spa cover. Please be mindful, the road to get to the property IS a dirt road. PETS - We welcome your furry friends to our home! There is a $100 fee per pet. Please make sure not to leave them unattended when you leave them at the house alone--cages are preferred. We are unable to accommodate cats due to the owner's severe allergy. Appreciate your understanding! Pool heating: If you’d like the pool heated to 84°F, please let us know at least 24 hours before arrival. A daily fee applies due to high fuel costs. If heating for multiple days, days must be consecutive. Pool heating is usually not needed from May through September. The initial charge for the first day is $200, and for each following day, the fee is $100. Heater turns on at 7:30am, turned off at 11 pm. IMPORTANT RULES for HOT TUB and POOL To protect your own health, safety, and the integrity of tub and linens, and to ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of our facilities all guests must shower before and after using hot tub and pool. ● Proper Hygiene is important. We kindly request all guests to shower, and avoid using bodily oils, lotions, or other products that can affect water quality in the spa. Failure to do so may result in the accumulation of dirt, debris, and contaminants in the water, which can compromise the overall experience for all users. ● Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. ● Proper swim attire is required in the pool and spa. Street clothes and denim are not permitted. ● Diving is not allowed in the pool or spa. ● For the safety and comfort of all guests, no pets of any kind or size, including dogs, are not allowed in the pool and spa area. ● Alcohol is not allowed near the hot tub and pool. The consumption of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited in the pool and spa area. ● Glass containers are not allowed in the pool area to prevent accidents. ● No Food, or eating or drinking (except water) is not permitted in the pool. ● Running or rough play is not permitted in the pool area to prevent accidents. ● Please do not stand or sit on hot tub or pool cover. ● Please heat the hot tub with cover on and avoid the urge to add hot water from the stove, it will damage the hot tub ● No Floatation Devices. Large floatation devices, rafts, or toys that may obstruct others are not allowed in the pool. ● Do not leave personal belongings unattended in the pool and hot tub area. ● No Splashing. Do not splash water outside the spa to maintain a safe walking surface. ● No Jumping. Jumping into or out of the spa and pool is prohibited. ● Please leave spa covers on and secured after use. Spa cover is for insulation only and is not designed to support weight. ● Respect Others: Treat fellow guests with respect and maintain a peaceful and relaxing environment Please be advised that if the condition of the hot tub and pool is left in poor conditions due to guests not rinsing their body and feet, an additional fee may be charged for excessive dirtiness. This fee will cover the cost of the necessary cleaning and maintenance required to restore the hot tub and pool to its optimal condition. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a clean and enjoyable environment for all guests. POOL & SPA SERVICE - The hot tub and pool is serviced every Monday and Thursday by our maintenance pool guy who will access the backyard and be in and out quickly. Usually guests don’t even notice him, but just a heads up in case you see him servicing the spa and pool area. Hot Tub Use: Please avoid using the hot tub immediately after it’s been serviced, as chemical levels are temporarily elevated. We have weekly pool cleanings, this day may fall on your stay and your cooperation will keep the hot tub clean and balanced at all times. Please rinse off any oils, lotions, or substances before entering the spa, as these can affect water quality and cause discoloration. No drinking in the hot tub, please. Be sure to keep the cover on when not in use, especially since we're in the desert and debris can easily get into the water. Any misuse of the hot tub may result in an additional charge for extra maintenance. ** Please be aware that parties and large gatherings are strictly prohibited in this house. Also, please be mindful and extra careful of the road as the road to get to the property is a dirt road. ** Additional reminder: With summer approaching and the temperature rising here in the desert, there are a few unique challenges that come with residing in the desert. Below is an outline of some of the most common unique challenges in the Joshua Tree area you will encounter during your stay. Here are some key points to remember: Water Temperature: Due to the extreme heat, the cold-water supply may not feel “cold” but rather warm. This is a natural occurrence and not a fault with the plumbing system. Air Conditioning: Our HVAC systems are designed to cool the interior of the homes by up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 11 degrees Celsius) below the outside temperature. Therefore, if it’s 100+ degrees Fahrenheit outside (37+ degrees Celsius), the interior temperature will average around 80 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 27 degrees Celsius), regardless of how low the thermostat is set. Heat Safety Tips: Stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and make use of shaded areas whenever possible. - Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Avoid alcohol and caffeine as they can lead to dehydration. - Wear Appropriate Clothing: Choose lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to reflect heat and sunlight. - Apply Sunscreen: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. Apply it generously and reapply every two hours, or after swimming or sweating. - Limit Outdoor Activities: Try to schedule outdoor activities during the cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or late evening. - Take Regular Breaks: If you must be outdoors, take breaks in the shade or in an air-conditioned building to cool down. - Never Leave Anyone in a Parked Car: This is a common cause of heat-related deaths in children. When parked in the sun, the temperature in your car can rise 20 degrees Fahrenheit (nearly 11 degrees Celsius) in just 10 minutes. - Stay Informed: Check the local news for extreme heat alerts and safety tips. Be aware of symptoms of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke. ◦ THINGS TO NOTE: Fenced yard: Fully fenced Cell phone coverage: Yes cellphone coverage Paved Roads/Dirt Roads: Dirt roads, no low riding cars Outdoor Surveillance: Outdoors only. Front of the house and front of garage. NO cameras are located inside the property. ◦ Wildlife: this is the rural desert and we share the space with the wildlife. You may encounter desert ants, mice, coyotes, or if you’re lucky a bobcat. ◦ RULES: Noise ordinance: Quiet hours are 10pm-7am. No external speakers allowed. Any noise related discrepancies will result in at least a $1000 fine. ◦ SMOKING POLICY No smoking inside the house or within 10ft. Smoke residue will result in excessive cleaning fees ◦ Restricted Areas: Any locked closet or room is restricted. If forcibly entered you could be held liable for any unaccounted for item. ◦ Hot Tub/Pool: Please rinse off before and after getting out of the hot tub. Please keep the lid on to avoid getting dirt in the hot tub as well as retain heat. Absolutely no glass by any water. We have weekly pool cleanings, this day may fall on your stay and your cooperation will keep the hot tub clean and balanced at all times. ◦ Photoshoots & Video: No un permitted photoshoots or videoing at the home. If you would like to use our home for those purposes please send us a message. Any unauthorized filming will result in a $5000 violation and production fee.
